Important Move-Out Information

We understand that moving can be both challenging and sometimes confusing—especially when it comes to rental property requirements.

To help make the process as smooth as possible, Bird Property Management has created this guide outlining everything you need to know before, during, and after your move-out. While some of this information may have been provided at move-in, this serves as a helpful reminder to ensure a successful transition.

Notice to Vacate

Giving Proper Notice

Residents are required to provide a minimum 30-day written notice prior to moving out, unless otherwise specified in your lease agreement.

Before Giving Notice

Check Your Lease Agreement

Your lease is a legally binding contract for a specific term. Review your agreement to confirm when you are eligible to give notice.

Early Termination

If you need to move before your lease expires, you may still be responsible for the terms of your agreement. Please contact Bird Property Management to discuss your options.

Written Notice Required

All notices must be submitted in writing. The official notice period begins on the date the notice is received, not the date it is sent.

Delivery of Notice

Rental References

Bird Property Management will only provide rental references after receiving a written Notice to Vacate that includes authorization to release this information.

Preparing for Move-Out

Your move-out date is the day you fully return possession of the property.

Before vacating, please ensure:

Return the Property in Move-In Ready Condition

To avoid unnecessary charges, the property should be returned in clean condition.

General Cleaning

Bathrooms

Repairs & Property Condition

Residents are responsible for returning the property in good condition, allowing for normal wear and tear.

Common Tenant Responsibilities:

Damage beyond normal wear and tear may result in deductions from your security deposit.

Final Inspection

After you vacate, Bird Property Management will conduct a final walk-through to assess:

Keys & Access Devices

All items must be returned at move-out, including:

Failure to return items may result in replacement charges.

Security Deposit

Your security deposit will be processed in accordance with California law.
